VersWorks Setting BackUp: How to use VersaWorks Setting BackUp Feature
Current VersaWorks setting files are automatically backed up.
This makes it easy to restore VersaWorks settings if the PC suddenly becomes inoperable or if VersaWorks is reinstalled.
VersaWorks setting data is automatically backed up every 24 hours.
How to manually back up VersaWorks setting data by Roland DG Connect Hub
1. If VersaWorks is running, close it. Start Roland DG Connect Hub and select "Backup".
2. Enter a PC name to identify the PC to be backed up.
3. Click "Save Backup" to back up the VersaWorks setting data.
* Only the VersaWorks backup function can be disabled by unchecking the “I store backup at the time of Connect Hub" checkbox.
How to restore VersaWorks setting data by Roland DG Connect Hub
1. If VersaWorks is running, close it. Start Roland DG Connect Hub and select "Backup".
2. Click "Load Backup" .
3. Select the data to be restored.
4. Click restore icon to download the file.
How to restore VersaWorks setting data by Roland DG Connect Web
1. Select "VersaWorks BackUp data" from the Roland DG Connect main menu.
2. Download and unzip the file to restore.
3. If VersaWorks is running, close it.
4. Select VersaWorks from the Windows Start menu and click "Initialize Application".
5. Click "Restore".
6. Select the file downloaded from Roland DG Connect Web.
7. Click "Restore".
Note: Any jobs added or print settings changed after the backup will be reset.
How to delete backup data
1. Open Roland DG Connect Hub and select "Backup".
2. Select "Load Backup" and select the data to be deleted.
3. Click the trash icon to delete the data.
What you can back up
- VersaWorks device registration information
- Queue print settings for each VersaWorks device
- Job print settings for each VersaWorks device
Note: If the location of the original data file of a job has been changed since it was backed up, the print settings of the job cannot be opened.
Requirements for backup
- Roland DG Connect Hub must be version 2.3.0.2 or higher
- VersaWorks must be version 6.16.01 or higher.
- Roland DG Connect Hub 2.3.0.2 or later must be installed on the PC on which VersaWorks is installed.
- You must be signed up for the Roland DG Connect Hub.
- Roland DG Connect Hub must be running and VersaWorks must not be running.
- Must subscribe to Professional or Premium plan (Professional plan allows up to 3 PCs to back up VersaWorks settings; Premium plan allows up to 10 PCs to back up VersaWorks settings)
VersaWorks setting data backup Timing
- When "Backup" is clicked manually.
- Automatically backed up at PC startup (when Roland DG Connect Hub is started). Note: VersaWorks must not be running.
- Automatically backed up when 24 hours have passed since the last backup Note: Roland DG Connect Hub must be running and VersaWorks must not be running.
How to re-register the PC and data to be backed up When Changing Plans
If you change your plan from Premium to Professional, please delete the backup data once and reconfigure the backup data manually so that the number of the registered PC is within the limit.
