Stitch cutting or perforated edge
There are three main checking points.
1. Blade
The blade should be sharp to a point, if it has worn or has been damaged this could cause the cut to be less accurate.
2. Blade Holder
a) Check that the blade holder is held in place tightly and there is no movement.
b) Remove the blade holder from the machine, push the pin to release the blade, remove the pin and then unscrew the cap and remove the blade.
Ensure that both the cap and blade holder are clean.
c) Lubricate the bearings, where the blade sits in the blade holder the bearings can seize up, spray some
machining oil into this part, this will free up the bearings.
3. Cutting Strip
The cutting strip is a long thin strip of plastic which sits directly under the blade and runs along the width of the machine, if the strip has any grooves or indents, scratches or bumps the cut can be less accurate and can cause the media not to be cut in some areas.
Also check the cutting conditions, such as speed and force, to ensure that the conditions are best set for the type of media you are cutting.
