How to create custom JIG layouts in Adobe Illustrator - CorelDraw for PrintAutoMate

 

PrintAutoMate supports the creation of JIG Layouts.

JIGs can be created in 2 ways: 

  1. Rectangular slots / Object slots – can be configured with PrintAutoMate
  2. Any shaped slots / Object slots – can be created from AI/CorelDraw, and exported as SVG 

SVG specification for JIGs 

  • SVG file name will be the name of JIG. 
  • The artboard size will be the size of the JIG. 
  • Object Boxes/Slots specification
    • Must be a closed shape - Rectangle, Polygon, Ellipse, Circle, or Paths 
    • Bounding rectangle of the shapes cannot overlap 
    • Each object box must have an id : S1, S2 and so on. It is not case-sensitive. (Ids can be assigned by setting name of the shape in AI/CorelDRAW layers panel) 
    • Object box can have an associated image box shape
      • Image box must be a closed shape - Rectangle, Polygon, Ellipse, Circle, or Paths 
      • Bounding rectangle of the image box must be within the object box.
      • Each image box must have an id : P1, P2 and so on. It is not case-sensitive. (Ids can be assigned by setting name of the shape in Illustrator/CorelDRAW layer panel) 
      • One image box per object box is allowed 
      • If any object box doesn’t contain an image box, then the complete object box is treated as the imageable area.
