Why is vector editing not possible on certain shapes - How to solve - Ungroup
Question
Sometimes by double clicking a shape I can edit a shape in a vector modus, but sometimes this is not possible.
Pre-Request
- Minimum release version : Roland DG Connect Designer v2.0
- Valid Roland DG Connect ID
- DIMENSE Module is active
- A Design has been setup
Solution
- Placing a shape on the artboard, fill with a pattern -- click "Fill Color" -- Select "Pattern" -- apply a pattern to the selected shape
- Uncheck "Apply Structural" and give a color to your shape
- Select "Add Structural"
No we have a shape which contains two shapes and that's the reason why you can't edit "THE" shape because the system doesn't know which shape you're selecting. When filling a shape just with a pattern OR a color then the shape consists out of one shape element.
How to Solve
- Select the shape for which a color and structural has been assigned to the pattern
- In the top menu bar, we have on the left side an icon = "Ungroup" hoover over them a the name of the icon will be visualized.
- Click the "Ungroup"
- Deselect the shape
- Select the shape and move away one of the shape elements, NOW you can edit them individually.
