Why is vector editing not possible on certain shapes - How to solve - Ungroup

Question

Sometimes by double clicking a shape I can edit a shape in a vector modus, but sometimes this is not possible.

Pre-Request

  1. Minimum release version : Roland DG Connect Designer v2.0
  2. Valid Roland DG Connect ID
  3. DIMENSE Module is active
  4. A Design has been setup

Solution

  1. Placing a shape on the artboard, fill with a pattern -- click "Fill Color" -- Select "Pattern" -- apply a pattern to the selected shape
  2. Uncheck "Apply Structural" and give a color to your shape
  3. Select "Add Structural"

No we have a shape which contains two shapes and that's the reason why you can't edit "THE" shape because the system doesn't know which shape you're selecting.  When filling a shape just with a pattern OR a color then the shape consists out of one shape element.

How to Solve

  1. Select the shape for which a color and structural has been assigned to the pattern
  2. In the top menu bar, we have on the left side an icon = "Ungroup" hoover over them a the name of the icon will be visualized.
  3. Click the "Ungroup"
  4. Deselect the shape
  5. Select the shape and move away one of the shape elements, NOW you can edit them individually.
