How do I create Jigs in PAM with similar object shapes
In Roland DG Connect we have a setting available - Jigs.
Via the Jig Settings you can create jigs which you then can assign to a print layout
A jig is a physical plate with position holders for objects. A Jig in PrintAutoMate contains three main elements
- Jig Size = the psychical size of the jig
- Object Box = is the size of the object
- Image size = is the size of the image placeholder in which the image should be printed on the object.
Get started with the creation of a Jig with same object sizes
- Go to your PAM environment
- Go Settings
- Go to Jig
- Here you can import a jig from an external source like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw. The jig file should be save as SVG format and should be created following the jig creation guidelines for external applications
- Or you can push the button "New Jig"
- Here you can give a name for your Jig
- Set the width and height for your physical Jig
- Define the thickness of your Jig, this will be key when you start creating Print Layouts.
- Set the default margin between the object box's
- Set the Master data for Location and PrinterType, this will be key in Output Preset creation.
- Once all elements of above are defined you can click the "Add Multiple", this function will fill the complete jig with defined object box's.
- Define in showed window the object box size and vertical as well horizontal margin. The object box should be the same as your object on which you want to print.
- Define your Image Box, width and higher.
- here you can set the X / Y position of the image box in relation to the right - bottom corner of the object box
- Or you can select one the 9 Placement box's.
- Define how your image should appear in the image box. (rotation - Mirror - Scale - and the placement of the image within the imagebox.)
- When you push the Add button the your Jig will be filled with objects box's with inside the object box's the image box's.
