Media Inventory Management: How to use Media Inventory Management feature
Media Inventory Management
By enabling the Media Inventory Management feature, the printer automatically prints the media remaining length and mark on the media that is leftover after sheet cutting.
During media setup, the machine reads the mark automatically and recognizes the media remaining length and media setup information, which are then displayed on the panel.
The current media remaining length is subtracted from the displayed value as media is consumed for printing or paper feeding, and the remaining length after subtraction is recorded on the media when sheet cutting is performed.
* Media Inventory Management supported models: VG3-640/540, SG3-540/300 (Firmware version 2.4 or later)
* Media Inventory Management supported media: Transparent media and other media for which the sensor cannot read the remaining media ID mark are not supported.

- Dtails on How to set up media (when using media setting & Automatic acquisition of media information):
https://support.rolanddg.com/hc/en-us/articles/19918139647129 - When removing the media from the printer, perform sheet cutting from the panel. This will automatically print a media ID mark on the leftover media that recognizes the remaining length of the media, as well as the actual remaining length. Additionally, when printing the media ID mark, the data in Roland DG Connect will be updated.
How to use the same registered media in multiple printers (different printers) to manage remaining media:
When using the same registered media in multiple printers (VG3, SG3 series), the media preset name registered in the printer itself must be the same (all upper and lower case letters, spaces, and symbols must match).
As long as the media preset names match, it will be possible to read the remaining amount and media preset from the media remaining mark even if they are different models.
