Media Inventory Management

 

When loading new media on the printer for the first time, you need to register the length of the new media by the following steps:

 

In order to use the feature, you need to enable the Remaining Media Management menu. 

For details on how to enable/disable the Remaining Media Management menu, please refer to the "How to use Media Inventory Management feature" section from the link below.

* Media Inventory Management supported models: VG3-640/540, SG3-540/300  (Firmware version 2.4 or later)、XP-640

* Media Inventory Management supported media: Transparent media and other media for which the sensor cannot read the remaining media ID mark are not supported.

 

 

1. Load the new media to be used on the printer.

2. Select "Setup" on the panel.

 

 

3. Select "New" and press "Next".

 

4. Select the preset name of the media to be used. (If no preset is registered, set a new preset from "New".)

 

5．By the preset name, a roll name is automatically assigned to the new media. (The roll name can be changed at your discretion, but it is recommended to confirm the list of roll names in Roland DG Connect and set a unique name that has not been registered before).

 

6. Set the length of the media.

7. Tap "Start Setup" and set up the media. If you use a media take-up unit for setup, follow the instructions on the panel to attach the media to the take-up unit.

The roll name is registered in the list in Media Inventory Management page in Roland DG Connect, allowing management of media length after printing and sheet feeding.
